About the Leila Tennis Necklace
Leila runs marquise-cut zircon in a continuous line at the throat, each stone set diagonally in fine gold prongs so the row reads as overlapping leaves rather than a string of points. It is cut to choker length and closes on an adjustable chain. The metal is 18k PVD gold plated 316L surgical-grade stainless steel.
Marquise at the throat, set on the diagonal
A marquise is pointed at both ends, so setting a row of them square leaves gaps where the points meet. Angling each stone lets the tip of one lie against the belly of the next, which closes the line and doubles the amount of stone per centimetre. At the throat, where the necklace is seen straight on, that density is the entire effect.
Choker length, and who it suits
Sitting high means it is seen against skin rather than fabric, which is what a fully set line needs. It works best with an open neckline and least well under a high collar. The adjustable chain gives you a few centimetres, so it can be worn snug at the throat or dropped just below it.
