Where it sits
At 40 cm the chain rests right at the collarbone. With the 5 cm extender it reaches 45 cm, sitting just below the collarbone — an easy way to layer it over a shorter chain.

Check it’s your length
Take a necklace you already own and love, undo the clasp, lay it flat and measure end to end. If it lands near 40–45 cm, Shamsa Sunburst Opal Necklace will sit the same way for you.
Good to know
- Open necklines — V-necks, scoops, off-shoulder — show a collar length beautifully. Higher necklines suit longer chains.
- Layering more than one? Leave 4 to 5 cm between each necklace so they sit in clean tiers without tangling.
- Between two lengths? Go longer. It is easy to layer or double a longer chain, harder to make a short one reach.

The Shamsa necklace features a luminous opal cabochon framed by a delicate sunburst halo of zircon stones, set on a fine gold chain. Crafted from 18k PVD gold-plated stainless steel, the opal shifts colour in the light for a soft, glowing finish. A dainty everyday piece that earns compliments. "Shamsa" means sun in Arabic, and this piece truly glows.

About the Shamsa Sunburst Opal Necklace
Shamsa sets an opal cabochon inside a sunburst halo of zircon, the rays fanning outward so the pendant has a star-shaped outline rather than a circular one. The pendant is 15 mm in diameter and hangs on a 1.9 mm chain measuring 40 cm with a 5 cm extender. It is 18k PVD gold plated 316L surgical-grade stainless steel.
A 15 mm sunburst at the collarbone
Setting the zircon in rays of uneven length is what makes this a sunburst rather than a halo. The outline is broken instead of smooth, so light appears to leave the pendant rather than ring it, and the piece reads larger than 15 mm from any distance where the individual stones are no longer separable.
Shamsa means sun
Shamsa means of the sun, and the setting is the name translated directly into metal rather than a decoration that happened to suit it. All the meanings are on The Names Behind the Pieces.
The smallest pendant in the range
At 15 mm this is the least assertive pendant Pellington makes, and that is the argument for it. It goes under a collar, layers beneath a longer chain without crowding, and can be worn with earrings that are doing all the work. If everything you have tried has felt like too much, start here.
Opal, water and the one habit
Opal is softer than crystal and prefers not to sit wet for hours or be stored against harder stones. Showering and swimming are both fine; rinse in fresh water afterwards and dry it, then keep it in its pouch rather than loose. The gold and zircon need none of that care: the layer is bonded by vapour deposition to a steel core with nothing in it to oxidise dark, so the colour holds without tarnishing. The matching Shamsa Opal Stud Earrings use the same cabochon at the same diameter. The 12-month warranty covers discolouration, plating that lifts and a stone that comes away. Free delivery to all seven emirates with no minimum, next day before 5 PM, 30 days to return unworn. See the necklace collection.
