About the Dana Mesh Hoop Earrings
Dana is a hoop worked in an openwork mesh lattice rather than a solid band, so the gold is a grid with gaps in it. That is what keeps the pair down to 7.5 grams, while still standing 19 mm high and 12 mm wide. It fits with a secure post, and the metal is 18k PVD gold plated 316L surgical-grade stainless steel.

A solid hoop of this size would be a noticeably heavy earring. Cutting the metal into a lattice removes most of that weight and replaces a single reflective surface with dozens of small edges, so the pair reads brighter than a plain hoop and weighs less than a stud of comparable scale.
