About the Allah Calligraphy Necklace
The pendant is the Arabic name for God rendered in calligraphy, the strokes traced in zircon so the script reads as light rather than as a solid shape. It hangs from a 1.9 mm cable chain in 18k PVD gold plated 316L surgical-grade stainless steel. The design keeps the letterforms open and unembellished, which is what allows the word itself to carry the piece.
The script, and how it is set
Calligraphy is difficult to translate into metal because the strokes vary in width along their length, and a pendant that flattens them loses the hand of the original. Here the stones follow the line of the script rather than filling a cut-out shape, so the thick and thin of the letterforms survives at pendant scale.
40 cm of chain with 5 cm in hand
The chain measures 40 cm and the extender adds up to five more. At 40 it sits at the base of the neck; fully out, at 45, the pendant drops just past the collarbone. The chain is 1.9 mm, fine enough to disappear under a collar and to layer beneath a longer piece without the two fighting for the same space.
