About the Bow Pearl Stud Earrings
Bow ties gold into a ribbon and then sets the loops and the trailing tails with pearls and zircon, so the shape is legible before any of the detail is. Each one measures 29 mm across and 28.9 mm high, which makes it very nearly square in outline. They fasten as studs, with a post and a push-on back. The body is 18k PVD gold plated 316L surgical-grade stainless steel.
A ribbon tied in metal, 29 mm across
The difficulty with a bow in metal is that a real one is soft and a cast one usually looks stiff. This is drawn with the loops at slightly different angles and the tails falling unevenly, which is what stops it reading as a symbol and lets it read as a knot. At 29 mm it occupies most of the lobe.
Pearls on a stud, and what that asks of you
Pearls are the softest component on the pair, and the only part with a preference. Perfume and hairspray go on first, earrings second. That is the entire care instruction and it applies to any pearl at any price.
Where the name Bow sits
Most designs here carry an Arabic word chosen for its meaning. Bow is not one of them and does not appear on The Names Behind the Pieces, because it describes the object rather than standing for anything, and we would rather say that than invent a translation.
