Where it sits
At 40 cm the chain rests right at the collarbone. With the 5 cm extender it reaches 45 cm, sitting just below the collarbone — an easy way to layer it over a shorter chain.

About the Ikhlas Tennis Necklace
Ikhlas sets emerald-cut zircon in a continuous line and dips to a single princess-cut stone at the centre, so the chain has a low point and a focus rather than running level all the way round. It is 18k PVD gold plated 316L surgical-grade stainless steel on an adjustable tennis chain.
Emerald-cut stones, and the princess cut at the dip
An emerald cut is a rectangle with stepped facets, cut for clarity rather than fire, so it gives long flat flashes instead of scattered points. A princess cut is square with pointed facets and does the opposite. Putting one of the second at the bottom of a line of the first is why the centre reads brighter than everything around it without being any larger.
Ikhlas is sincerity

Layering a tennis chain under something finer
A tennis necklace is the wrong thing to layer on top, because it needs an uninterrupted line to work. Put it closest to the throat and hang a finer pendant below it, so one piece carries the light and the other carries the detail. Two stone-set chains together simply cancel each other.
A continuous setting in the shower and the sea
A fully set chain has more settings than anything else you own, which sounds like more to go wrong and in practice means only that a rinse is worth more than a wipe. Shower in it, sweat in it, swim in it, then rinse in fresh water and lay it flat to dry. The gold is bonded by vapour deposition to a core with nothing in it to oxidise dark, so the colour holds without tarnishing.
