About the Khudra Pinwheel Earrings
Khudra puts a green marquise-cut stone at the centre of a pinwheel of zircon, so the clear stones radiate outward and the green sits in the middle of the rotation. Each earring measures 26 mm high, 26 mm wide and 3.5 mm deep. They fasten with secure stud backs, in 18k PVD gold plated 316L surgical-grade stainless steel.
A green marquise at the centre of a pinwheel
A pinwheel arrangement gives the eye a direction of travel, and a marquise cut in the middle of one points along that direction rather than against it. The result is a stud that appears to be turning slightly even when it is still. Colour in the centre rather than at the edge is what holds the composition together.
26 mm across and 3.5 mm deep
The depth figure is the useful one. At 3.5 mm these sit close to the lobe despite being 26 mm wide, which means a phone, a pillow or a headset all clear them. A stud of the same width built with any real height behind it would not manage that.
