About the Pearlora Pearl Shell Ring
The face of the Pearlora is a fluted scallop shell, its ridges fanning out from the base and scattered with small clear crystals, with three graduated pearls set in a line down the centre. Pellington is engraved inside the band. It is built in 18k PVD gold plated 316L surgical-grade stainless steel, and it is the only ring here combining pearl with pave.

Graduated means the three are not the same size: the largest sits at the widest point of the shell and they step down from there, which is what stops the line looking like a repeated motif. The fluting does the rest: ridges catch light along their length, so the gold glows where a flat face would flash.
The name that is not one of the Arabic ones
Most pieces here carry an Arabic word chosen for its meaning. Pearlora is not one of them, and it is not listed on The Names Behind the Pieces, because we would rather leave a name unexplained than invent a meaning for it. It describes what is in the ring and nothing more.
Sizing a ring with a broad face
The shell is wide across the top and the shank narrows sharply behind it, so the part that has to clear your knuckle is slimmer than the ring looks. Measure at the base of the finger and take that size rather than sizing up for the face. It comes in 6, 7 and 8, exchangeable within 30 days.
The one habit pearls ask for
Pearls are the softest thing on this ring and the part that dislikes perfume, hairspray and alcohol-based sanitiser. Spray first, ring on second, and that is the whole of it. The gold and the crystals need nothing: hand washing, the shower, the gym and the sea are all fine, and the plating holds colour without tarnishing because the steel underneath has nothing in it to darken. Rinse and dry after a swim rather than leaving salt to sit against the pearls. The 12-month warranty covers discolouration, plating that lifts and a pearl or stone that comes away.
