About the Arba'a Stacked Ring
Arba'a is one ring that has been drawn as four. A Roman-numeral row, a black band, a line of small clear crystals and a ribbed edge sit fused together, each one a different width and surface, so the piece gives the effect of a carefully built stack in a single band. Made in 18k PVD gold plated 316L surgical-grade stainless steel, it does not shift or separate the way four loose rings do.
Four bands, one ring
The advantage over an actual stack is order. Four separate rings rotate independently through the day, so the numerals end up facing sideways and the black band drifts to the palm. Fused, they hold their arrangement, and the surfaces stay in the sequence they were designed in. The trade is that you cannot break it up and wear the parts separately.
Arba'a means four
The name is simply the number, one of a small group here named for what they are rather than for a quality. Thalatha, three, is its sibling. Both are on The Names Behind the Pieces.
Why a wide fused band needs half a size more
The four bands here behave as one solid width, not as four flexible ones, and that is the whole of the sizing question. Arba'a covers roughly the same span of finger as four separate rings would, but it cannot flex across the knuckle the way a loose stack does, so it needs the room a single ring of that width needs. Take the larger size if you fall between two. Sizes 6, 7 and 8, exchangeable within 30 days.
Living in it: washing up, sanitiser and the sea
Wide bands trap water underneath, so the habit worth forming is drying the finger rather than just the ring. Beyond that it asks for nothing: hand sanitiser, soap, chlorine and sea water all leave the plating alone, because the gold is bonded by vapour deposition onto steel that has nothing in it to oxidise dark.
