Three easy ways to measure
1. A ring you already wear
Take a ring that fits the finger you are buying for. Lay it on a ruler and measure straight across the inside of the circle, edge to edge. Match that number to the Across column. This is the fastest and most accurate method. It works for gifting too: quietly borrow a ring they wear on the right finger.
2. A strip of paper
Cut a thin strip of paper or use a piece of thread. Wrap it around the finger, snug but comfortable, and mark where it meets. Lay it flat against a ruler. That measurement in millimetres is the Around number. One caution: do not pull it tight. If your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, measure both and pick a size between the two.
3. Our printable ring sizer
Print it at exactly 100% scale, never "fit to page". Check the bar on the sheet measures 5 cm, then place a ring you own over the circles until one matches its inside edge.

- Fingers are at their largest in the evening. Measure then, in a comfortably warm room.
- Your dominant hand runs slightly larger, and every finger is its own size. Measure the exact finger you are buying for.
- Index fingers run about a size larger than ring fingers. Pinkies run 1 to 2 sizes smaller.
- Measure twice and take the average.
- Between two sizes? Go up. A slightly loose ring is an easy fix. One that will not pass your knuckle is not.

About the Thalatha Stacked Ring
Three bands read as one on the Thalatha. The top and bottom rows carry Roman numerals cut clean through the metal, so you can see skin through them, and a row of small clear crystals sits between the two. Openwork is the whole idea here: what has been removed matters more than what is left. The ring is 18k PVD gold plated 316L surgical-grade stainless steel.

Piercing a band rather than embossing it changes how it wears. The numerals are legible from both sides, the ring is noticeably lighter than its width suggests, and the cut edges catch light where a raised numeral would cast a shadow. It also means the piece looks different against a tan than it does against a sleeve, which is not something a solid band does.
Thalatha means three
Three, for the three bands. It belongs to a small group here named for a count rather than a quality, alongside Arba'a for four. Both are listed on The Names Behind the Pieces.
Why a pierced band turns more easily
Removing metal removes weight, and a lighter wide ring rotates more readily than a heavy one at the same fit. If you want the numerals to stay upright, size this one at the snugger end. Measure the base of the finger and take the smaller size when you fall between two, which reverses the usual rule for a wide band. Sizes 6, 7 and 8.
Cleaning a ring you can see through
Cut-outs are easier to clean than recesses, because water goes straight through instead of pooling. Run it under the tap, dry it, done. Showering, the gym, the pool and the sea are all fine, and the plating keeps its colour without tarnishing, since the steel beneath it contains nothing that forms dark oxides.
